As you may be aware our school budget is made up of a number of factors based on our pupil numbers and pupils within a range of different categories. Part of school funding is Pupil Premium, which is funding based on the number of children we have registered with the ‘Free School Meals’ system or children who are under local authority care. We may use this as we see fit to raise standards of achievement.
At Orchard Infant School we have decided to use our funding to support achievement in three main areas:
EDUCATIONAL VISITS
We are currently in the process of planning school trips for this academic year. We are anticipating a normal school year as from September 2021. These forthcoming trips are designed to enrich the Integrated Curriculum Projects.
If your child is registered for ‘Pupil Premium’ we will meet the cost of the voluntary contribution for the school trip from school budget and no payment will be required.
AFTER SCHOOL CLUBS
If your child would like to attend an after school club (Years 1 & 2 only) please apply to register your interest each term. Places are allocated on a first come, first serve basis. We strongly encourage you to sign up for a club for your child.
There is no payment required if your child is registered for Pupil Premium.
SUPERMARKET VOUCHERS
Over the past year, following a campaign by the footballer Marcus Rashford, we have received funding to enable us to provide a free supermarket voucher to all our Pupil Premium families over the school holiday periods. It is expected that this will continue during the academic year 2021/22.
SHOE VOUCHERS
We are able to issue our Pupil Premium families with a shoe voucher twice a year so that their child can have a new pair of shoes. These vouchers are kindly donated by Dibden allotments association.
